What are the applicable scenarios for stainless steel shelves

Stainless steel shelves are widely used in food processing plants, cold chain warehouses
1、 Food and pharmaceutical industry
Stainless steel shelves are widely used in food processing plants, cold chain warehouses, and pharmaceutical cleanrooms due to their corrosion resistance and easy cleaning characteristics. For example, the dairy workshop needs to store a large number of stainless steel tanks, and the shelves need to withstand humid environments and avoid rusting and contaminating products; The pharmaceutical warehouse requires a smooth and seamless shelf surface to prevent dust accumulation, while also withstanding frequent alcohol disinfection. 304 or 316 stainless steel can meet such stringent requirements.
2、 Chemical Industry and Corrosive Environment
In chemical raw material storage, electroplating workshops, or coastal port warehouses, the air contains chloride ions, sulfides, or acid-base vapors, and ordinary metal shelves are prone to rusting. Stainless steel shelves (especially 316L or duplex steel materials) can resist such corrosive media. When storing salts, fertilizers, or chemical reagents for a long time, their lifespan is 3-5 times that of carbon steel shelves, and they do not require frequent replacement, reducing maintenance costs.
3、 Cold chain and low-temperature storage
The ambient temperature of cold storage is usually below -18 ℃. Ordinary steel is prone to brittleness at low temperatures, while stainless steel (such as 304 or austenitic stainless steel) still maintains good toughness and can withstand forklift impact or cargo stacking pressure. For example, a frozen food warehouse uses stainless steel shelves to store frozen dumplings and meat, which will not cause contamination due to low-temperature frosting and can withstand temperature fluctuations during defrosting.
4、 Clean Room and High Precision Manufacturing
Semiconductor, optical instrument or precision machinery production workshops have high requirements for environmental cleanliness, and stainless steel shelves are the first choice due to their characteristics of no electrostatic adsorption and no shedding of particles. Its surface can be treated by electrolytic polishing to reduce roughness to Ra ≤ 0.4 μ m, reducing the adhesion of fine dust; At the same time, the corrosion resistance of stainless steel ensures that no rust debris is generated during the cleaning process (such as wiping with isopropanol), avoiding contamination of the product.
5、 Outdoor and humid environments
In outdoor storage, swimming pools, or water treatment plants, shelves need to be exposed to damp or flooded environments for a long time. Stainless steel shelves (such as 316 material) can resist corrosion from rainwater, seawater, or chlorine containing disinfectants, and do not require coating protection to avoid local corrosion caused by coating peeling. For example, the coastal fishing gear warehouse uses stainless steel shelves to store fishing nets and ropes, which have much better salt spray resistance than galvanized steel shelves.
6、 High load-bearing and heavy-duty warehousing
Stainless steel can be made into high-strength profiles (such as 310S stainless steel with a tensile strength of ≥ 620MPa) through hot rolling or cold rolling processes. When combined with thickened columns (usually ≥ 3mm) and crossbeams, the single-layer load-bearing capacity can reach more than 1 ton, making it suitable for storing heavy goods such as metal sheets, engines, or large molds. Its structural stability is superior to aluminum shelves, and it is not easily deformed under long-term heavy loads.
